Blogging is an excellent SEO strategy. It provides continually updated content for Google, plenty of opportunity to create an internal linking structure and use anchor text, and also engages your readers. However, a blog can take up a lot of time. Should you outsource your company blogging, or not?

The case for outsourcing:

Sometimes outsourcing is the only acceptable option – you run a small partnership and just don’t have time for example. Here are some other advantages:

It might be cheaper to pay someone else for it than spend your own time blogging

It can create a more professional blog

Pro bloggers are often more in tune with the net community

However, there are disadvantages …

The case for in-house blogging

If you’re trying to build yourself up as an expert and have a relatively obscure industry, you’ll almost never get the quality posts from an outsourced writer that you could write

In-house blogging creates a real face for your company … not an outsourced face

You have access to inside information that you might not think to pass on

You’ll have access to multimedia relevant to your company that freelance blog writers couldn’t get.

The solution?

As with many things – a mix of both strategies works best. Start with a 50/50 mix … and adjust as you go!

One of the ongoing dilemmas in web content writing is not inserting keywords … with a little practice and good guidance on densities (ask your SEO experts!), the keywords are a fairly simple part. More difficult is deciding where your web copy should lie on the informational versus sales continuum. Today we give you a few guidelines.

Does your web copy inspire trust?

Informational copy versus sales copy

The difference is not always apparent when you are the one behind the keyboard! As a general guide…

Informational copy

Gives the reader information about a product or service, looking mainly at the features

Usually doesn’t mention company names

If a company is mentioned, there is no bias towards them in the copy. May mention several companies at once.

Sales copy

Looks mainly at the benefits of taking out a product or service with a particular company

Mentions only one company name

Tells readers about how to take action towards purchasing a product or service

Benefits of informational copy

There is a heck of a lot of sales copy on the internet … and people really tend to distrust it. Anybody can write anything they like and publish it on the internet – there is little governance and few checks and balances in that regard. So sales copy is taken with an enormous grain of salt.

Having informational website copy makes your site seem much more trustworthy to visitors. You have no interest in giving bad information, because there is no direct financial gain to be had from doing so.

Additionally, people that aren’t ready to purchase will come to your site, building traffic and branding, purely for the information. However, when they’re ready to purchase (a week or year down the track), they’ll remember your site and trust it.

Benefits of sales copy
At some stage, if you’re selling something, you’ll have to tell your prospect about why they should buy from you rather than Joe Blow down the road. If you don’t let your customer know why your company is good, they might assume that it isn’t!

Several studies have shown that people have trouble finding products related to informational copy if there isn’t a direct ‘sell’ … and might then Google to find the very same product on the site they were already on … YOUR site! Thgis is one reason why some sales copy is essential.

There is a compromise between the two. For sales copy to be trusted and effective, it should have plenty of informational, factual backup – like user reviews, testimonials, technical data, etc.

On-page optimization is the first step next to off-page optimization when you are targeting higher ranking in the search engine results page. Even if it is the inbound links generated though off-page optimization that generally contribute in having your site ranked, SEO experts remind everyone that on-page optimization must be taken seriously.

Internet marketing experts is able to come up with five elements of on-page optimization.

1. Meta Tags

Meta Tags are not visible to the reader but are visible to search engines. Search engines crawl on website’s Meta tags to know what the website is all about. Then, the spider is going to index it for queries that are relevant to it. Meta tags are composed of title, description and keywords. The title must carry the entirety of what the website is all about. It is advisable that the site’s title should carry the targeted keywords but not to the point of sounding like a spam. The title, just like what it should be, must be comprehensible enough. The description should be the elaboration of the title and should have keywords in it. The keywords should not be too many to be called a spam.

2. Web Content

Web content comprises the entire web design and the text. The web design must be appealing enough that encourages the site visitors to click and browse more the subpage. The textual aspect of the site must not suffer from the lack of information about the chosen particular market niche, but never forget to put keywords in them.

If you are planning to hire an SEO expert, seek the advice from the people of Web Marketing Experts (WME) any time.

Web content does not necessarily mean text for the websites. Although most of the internet users are really concerned of the web content textual write ups, you should not also take for granted the power of web design and layout.

Web content is defined as anything that you can see on the website. Meaning, aside from text, images and flash, audio, video and other forms of media are considered web content. The entire web design and layout is also part of the web content.

In making a web content, you must put in mind that your website is the representation of your business. Give enough attention in terms of how your products or services must be presented to the public. When your products or services attract customers, there is great probability that they would buy. Another thing to consider is the customer experience that your products and services impart. Meaning, you should not settle for anything second-rate when it comes to the quality of your products/services. Only customer-satisfaction shapes the credibility of your product/service. When your product/service attains such consistency in giving satisfaction to the customers, your branding comes in.

According to an expert internet marketing personnel, “branding gather links naturally.” No one can refute on this fact because that statement speaks the truth. It is only in branding that your website becomes even more popular. When your brand is popular, you need not to search for customers; they would search for you.

Web content is king. It is where the destiny of your internet marketing relies.
